They released a self-titled EP in 2012 and gained wider recognition in 2013 when "This Is The New Year" was covered on the hit television series "Glee." That same year the duo signed to Epic Records and released a three-song EP, which featured "Say Something." The track caught the attention of Aguilera after it was featured on an episode of "So You Think You Can Dance," prompting the GRAMMY winner to reach out to the duo to record a new version. "We never thought was going to do what it did at all because most of our music is upbeat and positive … but there's a bigger plan and you just have to go with the flow."Ī Great Big World - comprising Axel and Chad Vaccarino - formed in 2010 when the singer/songwriters met as music business students at New York University.
